Dayana

Certified Veterinary Technician

Welcome! My name is Dayana. I’m a certified veterinary technician which means I am the equivalent of a registered nurse, but for animals. I am a Cuban native, but a South Florida local. My special interests include surgery and emergency medicine, but have had a background in shelter and general practice medicine. My greatest joy and mission is to advocate for the patients I’m fortunate enough to care for using my 10+ years of experience to provide the highest level of care. I’m grateful every day to have the opportunity to work with my greatest friend and role model Dr. Lora Howell in a clinic that was once just a dream in our heads. In my free time, I enjoy fishing, boating and spending time with my two dogs, ferret, and family. Please feel free to come to me and my companions with any of your pet’s concerns or needs. I will always give my all to help you and your pet to have a stress-free and healthy life. Cheers!

Mark

Veterinary Assistant

Mark started his veterinary career as a kennel attendant in 2019. Aspiring for more knowledge and to obtain a greater skill set to become a nurse, he set his eyes on a specialty hospital where he worked as a veterinary assistant overnight in 2020. In 2021, Mark joined the ER/ICU team as a full-fledged nurse at another specialty hospital and later joined the surgical department as a surgical nurse there which he works at to this day. He’s worked in the field for almost three years, and in that short time has sought to better himself with his patient care, nursing skills, and learn more about the veterinary world which is what attracted him to come work with us as our first assistant. Working at Clematis Animal Clinic, he’s been able to see a side of veterinary medicine he wasn’t able to explore fully working in ER/Specialty care, and that was being there for all the first time experiences of the patients as well as working with our pets at every step, rather than when they need a one time surgery or emergency situation. Mark’s an aspiring veterinarian currently working towards his associates degree. His special interests as a nurse include anesthesia, surgery, physical rehabilitation, and advocating for patient comfort and care. He has a Siberian Husky, a German Short-Haired Pointer, and a Calico cat. His general hobbies include crocheting, dungeons and dragons, nature trails, and spending time with loved ones. He looks forward to connecting with you and your pets to make the world a brighter place. His favorite quote is “smile in the face of adversity”

Alana

Veterinary Assistant

Alana is a dual enrolled high school student and our lovely veterinary assistant. Her veterinary journey started with her mom who is a veterinary nurse at a veterinary emergency hospital. Having witnessed her mom in action, she decided to pursue a career in medicine. She is currently enrolled in the veterinary program offered in her high school while juggling college courses, her two veterinary assistant jobs, and her personal life. She’s exceptionally ambitious, an extremely hard worker, and driven to one day become an OB/GYN. She has a young dachshund named Lilo that she loves with all her heart. In her off time, she continues to work hard to achieve her goals by studying for both her classes and on veterinary medicine. She also enjoys traveling, fitness, and having a girl’s night out.

Jesse

Practice Manager

Hi, I’m Jesse, the Practice Manager at Clematis Animal Clinic; but I also handle reception and intake at the front desk. My background is in a corporate setting, but I am excited to be a part of the team here and am passionate about animal medicine and providing our clients and their pets with the best possible experience while in our clinic. When not at the clinic, I enjoy kayaking, trail running (when it’s not too hot!), wrenching on our Jeep, and gardening in the back yard. Stop in anytime and say Hi : )
